Was there an OJ Simpson accomplice? Lead LAPD detective Tom Lange answers the claim. "It's not there. It never was. It never will be."
Tom Lange led the LAPD homicide investigation into the 1994 murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. Back on Heroes Behind the Badge, he takes the questions viewers sent after his first interview: Judge Lance Ito and cameras in the courtroom, why the gloves didn't fit in front of the jury, the rumors about Jason Simpson and A.C. Cowlings, and why detectives went into Simpson's Rockingham home without a warrant.
Then the New York Times report, in which Sam Ippolito claims his brother Joey helped Simpson on the night of the murders. Tom reads the only three entries on the LAPD clue list that mention Joey Ippolito, explains how investigators ruled out marks cited as a second set of footprints, and describes how a pair of Reeboks from Simpson's own closet confirmed his shoe size.
His answer hasn't changed in more than three decades: there is no evidence anyone else was involved. In Part 2: where Tom believes Simpson got rid of the evidence, and the airport witness the jury never heard from.
